Plato's Burden - Love Across The Universe

After the Lost Horns (LG) fantasy LARP I wrote for my best friend I ended up with a lot of creative juice and a lot of void. I wanted to keep creating but I did not want to do something so heavily based on medieval fantasy and education. I managed to run the LH thrice and got excessive feedback on my facilitation skills and my abilities but something was missing.

For 1 year I ended up consuming sci-fi media. From Metropolis (1927) to Bladerunner (1982) to Babylon 5 (1994). And books and comics. Oh so many of them. Noir, Mystery, Sci-fi Adventures... Cloud Atlas ended up being my favourite.

And I created this.

"In Plato's Symposium, Aristophanes tells the story of how Zeus – fearing that the powerful and physically perfect humans would rise against him – split human beings in half, creating distinct male and female counterparts. Those counterparts are now lost and every humanoid is looking for their perfect (or not) half.

In this world, many still haven't found their perfect match. The AIs control procreation, allowing it only for those who are 100% compatible. The characters are trapped in an Intergalactic Bus, with 3 days to find their other half. They can interact for 30 minutes each day, but can only attempt compatibility with one person by day's end. After 3 days, they must choose: leave with their match or leave alone."

I asked a friend to help me and create an actual APP to scan the participants, I commissioned an artist to create posters for the game (I will never use AI for my games) and I bought an amazon box full of props/costumes.

Below are some photos from the first run!

Do you want to run it or come and play it?

I hope to see you in the next run!

[This LARP will NOT be open source due to the huge effort and funding it required. If you wish to purchase the game/the APP and/or the posters send a DM]
